An overachieving university student at A University pulls an all-nighter and dies suddenly. When he opens his eyes, he’s become a rare breed in the cat world: a male calico!
Everyone knows that nine out of ten calicos are female, and the tenth is a neuter. Male calicos are freaks of nature. Lin Feng has barely accepted that he’s turned into a cat when a pack of lovesick tomcats chase him half to death. He finally manages to escape, only to wander into the territory of the cat world’s vicious tabby boss and get treated with utter disdain.
Mo Li is the aloof, proud king of the neighborhood, fiercely protective of his territory. He means to drive out the male calico who’s trespassed on his turf, but ends up helping him fend off his pursuers instead.
And so Lin Feng begins his hilarious life of “running from chasers and clinging to the boss”: he can’t resist the kitten next door and gets chased and scratched by its mother every day; a greasy Ragdoll mistakes him for a female and won’t leave him alone, nearly making him retch; and his baffling human habits, like running with both legs on the same side and pawing at water to drink, completely upend Mo Li’s understanding of cat life.
Mo Li initially can’t stand the strange male calico, but gradually falls for his mix of sweetness and toughness. “Get off my turf” becomes “I’m the only one allowed to bully my cat.”
When a sharp-tongued, snarky male calico meets a haughty, domineering tabby, with a gang of drama-queen strays thrown in, their chaotic, uproarious interspecies cohabitation officially begins!
