Zhang Bufan is an ordinary man with no connections who dreams of becoming an immortal official. After finally enduring the journey to ascension, all he gets is a contract making him a “temporary worker for the Heavenly Court”! No immortal status, no benefits, and the most dangerous job of all: descending to the mortal realm to subdue demons. His direct supervisor is a stingy star lord whose performance target is to “cut Heavenly Court expenses,” and his partner is a good-for-nothing Pixiu obsessed with binge-watching dramas. Faced with a constant stream of demons, docked wages, and contemptuous looks from his fellow immortals, his hopes of becoming a permanent employee seem far off. Then he accidentally gets caught up in a world-shaking conspiracy to resurrect an ancient demon god, only to discover that his temporary status is actually part of the biggest scheme in all three realms... Watch the most miserable worker turn the tables, shifting the order of the entire Heavenly Court with laughter and fiery passion!
