The play is adapted from Xiao Ao's novel of the same name, which tells the story of Xu Zhongyi, a repeater from the military reunification special training class who is sent to the Communist Party of China army as an undercover agent. During his undercover period, he was touched by the Chinese Communist Party's belief in serving the people, and his thoughts changed, thus starting a new undercover life story.
