Chinese Showbiz: Becoming a Top-Tier Star on the Beijing Film Academy Track

Back in the year 2000, Chen Nuo looks at the familiar campus grounds of the Beijing Film Academy and realizes that not only has he become twenty years younger, he has also been bound to the “Hall of Fame of the Arts” System. In his previous life, he made his living on short-video platforms. This time, he’ll start from here.

He planned to borrow a few songs and make a few films, easily become a billionaire, make up for the regrets of his previous life, and maybe get into Peking or Tsinghua University to make his parents proud. But he never expected to score just 351 on his first placement test! The teacher says, “Keep at it, and you might get into a vocational college!”

Well, Peking and Tsinghua are out of reach. He’d better settle for making it in the entertainment industry.

From bit parts in Like Fog, Like Rain, Like Wind to a brief but dazzling appearance in The Story of a Noble Family; from a dorm-room-recorded internet song going viral to singing Chinese songs at the Grammys...

Reporter: “Mr. Chen, what’s the secret to your success?” Chen Nuo: “At first, I really just wanted to get into a good university”
