So What If the Heir Gives You Away? Call Me Empress

Yan Yueqing saved her father from danger, and used that as leverage to take the marriage intended for the legitimate daughter, Yan Yueyao.

Unwilling to give up, Yan Yueyao clung to the small bond she had shared with the heir of the Marquis of Ningyuan when they were children. At last, she pleaded to marry into the marquis's household as her half-sister's co-wife.

After the wedding, her half-sister framed her, and the whole family found fault with her.

After three years without a child, the heir grew tired of her and finally drove Yan Yueyao out of the marquis's household with a letter of divorce.

In the depths of winter, she hid alone in a narrow alley, where a band of bandits assaulted her. She died beneath a sky full of falling snow.

In a daze, she was reborn.

She had returned to the night her father had pressured her to give up her marriage.

“Yueyao, your father is talking to you. Why are you avoiding an answer?”

“Daughter agrees with Father. Elder Sister nearly lost her life at the hands of evil men while saving you.”

She continued, “Now that Elder Sister wishes to marry the heir of the Marquis of Ningyuan as his principal wife, I ought to relinquish the betrothal and repay you for raising me all these years.”

Then she turned around and, with a little scheme, ruined her half-sister's reputation for virtue and righteousness.

Her swift, decisive methods caught the interest of Xiao Yaochuan, Prince of Jin.

In private, she reached an understanding with him.

“This subject's daughter is willing to manage all the affairs of Your Highness's household. Once it's done, please grant me a divorce, a fief, and a stipend, and let me remain unmarried for the rest of my life!”

Three years later, the emperor died.

The foolish crown prince ascended the throne, and Prince of Jin became regent.

“Regent, please honor your promise!”

“What promise? I haven't even taken the throne yet. Princess Consort, please be patient!”

“You?”
