A Feng, an ordinary businessman, is struggling to keep his shop, Fengji Curios, afloat. Driven to desperation by the rent, he accidentally activates an old jade pendant he bought in the countryside with the blood from his palm, opening a connection to Mo Chen, a cultivator. In exchange for ordinary iron, he obtains Qi-condensing liquid and a Qi-guiding manual, which dispel his exhaustion and teach him the basics of cultivation. From then on, he embarks on a path of trading resources from the mortal world for opportunities to cultivate, buying from heaven and selling to earth.
