Xia Ruocheng, a 21st-century university student of traditional Chinese medicine and Pokemon fan, had his life cruelly cut short in a car accident while working part-time as a food delivery driver. When he opened his eyes again, he had transmigrated to the Kanto region of the Pokemon world, a place he had long dreamed of but which was also utterly unforgiving. He had become a Bug Catcher at the very bottom of society.
A wanton humiliation at the hands of a scion of a prominent family gave him a bitter taste of the world's rigid class system and monopolized resources. His burning passion and dream of becoming Champion seemed laughable in the face of reality. To obtain resources, survive, and grow stronger, he was forced to pawn his soul to the darkness and step through Team Rocket's doors.
The only companion he had was an average Zubat. But his modern knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine and theories of Chinese martial arts became his greatest golden finger. Meridians, medicinal properties, body tempering… With his unique perspective, he analyzed the mysteries of Pokemon anatomy and raised that unremarkable Zubat, step by step, into a Dark Night Lord who made the world tremble!
