NBA's Wembanyama Prototype: Rising from the 16th Pick

He transmigrates into the NBA as the most miserable 16th overall pick. After his first five games, he’s branded a “fraud from a country of yellow people,” and his girlfriend gets caught in the online hate too?

Tang Hanshen says, “Relax. My cheat has arrived.”

[Ding! Congratulations, Host. You have acquired the Wembanyama template and unlocked the skill: Sky-Shading Block!]

Wembanyama? The greatest Shaolin monk in a century!

And so, garbage time becomes Tang Hanshen’s stage.

Against the Lakers’ reserves, he swats Cousins into the stands with a sky-shading block: “Big guy, time to lose some weight.”

He takes on Jokic and teaches him a lesson with 21 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks: “Skill? I know more about it than you do.”

Against Towns, he delivers the game-winning assist, then seals it with a three-pointer: “I hear you’re the best center in the league?”

Chinese fans go wild:

“Is this Lin’s Cyclone 2.0? No, it’s the all-new Tang Hanshen Storm!”

“He went from being told to get out of the NBA to signing a max contract in just 10 games!”

When Tang Hanshen steps onto the Finals stage and sees Durant and James in front of him, he smiles faintly.

“Sorry, but this 16th pick is just a tiny bit too good.”
