Supernatural Horror + Ghost Hunting
Shen Ning'an may be the unluckiest civil servant in history. On her very first day on the job, a banana peel sent her to her death, and after dying, her resentment was so strong that the Underworld nearly destroyed her. To stay alive, she was forced to take the Underworld civil service exam, but by a twist of fate, she was assigned to the neglected Second Office of the Soul-Reaping Bureau.
A new department, established only recently yet riddled with questions; a mysterious boss; and colleagues who never do things by the book. Everything seems shrouded in mystery...
A child born of a corpse, a blood-cloak curse, mourners, corpse craftsmen, ghost marriages, life-for-money deals, seductive spirit demons, and rebellious colleagues on the run. Not a single case is trivial, and every one could cost a ghost its life...
"Boss, can I apply for a transfer?"
"You can," Lin Yanci said, looking up. "First, deal with this severed finger that can talk."
Watching the severed finger wriggle inside the box, Shen Ning'an resigned herself to picking up the soul-catching rope. It seemed she wouldn't be able to give up this iron-rice-bowl job in the Underworld until her soul was scattered to the winds.
