Heaven’s mandate says he must endure a tribulation, so he tears up the script instead: he’d rather die first.
So he becomes a hostage prince of Nanli, dies in the blizzards of the northern frontier, then lives again as the most unremarkable disciple of Qingxu Palace.
Lu Yiyi is already bored out of his mind. All he wants in this life is to sleep forever.
But the script refuses to let him sleep.
A hundred years ago, Feng Lin split his soul for him. Ten years later, Feng Li broke his Dao for him.
On the altar of sacrifice, he has just sighed, “Let it be,” when a silver-haired inspector descends through the clouds and grabs his wrist.
“Feng Lin’s soul and Feng Li’s Dao now both belong to me. Do you acknowledge this pact?”
The Lord of the Nine Netherworlds seals off the River of Forgetfulness, his blood-red eyes blazing with fire. “You are mine, for all eternity.”
He glances around. “Poor lighting, excessive damp. One star.”
A fiend from the River of Time wreaks havoc across the three realms and smiles as he tempts him. “Lu Yiyi, we’re the same kind.”
He picks up a pastry and offers his review. “Decent special effects, zero points for logic.”
Only when he buries the final shard of jade from the Cangyun Pavilion, releases the soul lantern at the Ford of Rebirth, and even annotates the rules of the Nine Netherworlds with “Rewrite” line by line
do the three realms finally realize: this isn’t a tribulation at all. They’re forcing a god who just wants to lie flat to personally clean up the workplace.
And his way of dealing with trouble is simple: whoever won’t let him lie flat, he makes sure they can never lie flat again.
Now he frowns at the freshly drafted “Regulations for Living Together with the Dao Companion of the Nine Heavens.”
“Clause Fifty-Seven… Can we change it to ‘Dual cultivation requires both parties’ consent and an appointment in advance’?”
Beside him, the silver-haired inspector remains unfazed.
“Approved. Addendum: either Dao companion may make an appointment unilaterally.”
The language is interesting and the plot is novel. Come on, the author.
It looks pretty good, the writing is good and the plot is quite interesting. If you didn't feel that it was Feng Lin who made the wrong attack, I hope I'm not wrong.
