What would you do if one day you discovered that everything you had protected was part of a carefully crafted deception, and that the evil you had fought was actually the victim of history?
Lin Fan, a college student who only wanted to live an ordinary life, awakens to an S-rank power that lets him control “sorrow” at the darkest hour. Recruited by the supernatural organization known as the Night Watch, he becomes a rising star of the future.
But he soon realizes that something is wrong with this world. The history of the so-called heroes, the “First Seven Kings,” is riddled with doubts. And the “Wasteland Beasts,” hunted with bounties on their heads, have a tenderness in their eyes that is no different from a human’s.
When he resolutely turns his ice blade against his former comrades to protect a “Wasteland Beast” cub, he becomes a traitor to all of humanity.
On the run, he tears away a corner of the world’s truth: the guardian gods are the invaders stealing the world’s source, and he himself is the last surviving heir of the Spirit Clan’s imperial bloodline, a people wiped out long ago. He is the sole key foretold to topple the throne and bring the world to “zero.”
The “sky screen” plan is fully underway, and the Night of Purification is upon them. The old gods seek to kill him, while the people of the new world see him as the dawn of hope.
Now, Lin Fan stands at the crossroads of fate. Will he become a new god and establish another tyranny? Or will he shatter everything and, amid the ruins of order, welcome an unknown and dangerous new era of zero?
It's actually pretty good. There are some questions and foreshadowings. I don't know how they will be revealed later.
