The story explores how to find balance between individual superhuman powers, devotion to country, love, and responsibility, while probing the ultimate questions: “What does it mean to be human, and what does it mean to follow the Dao?”
By a twist of fate, the protagonist, Chen Wu, becomes a vampire and is drawn into the supernatural world, where he must choose between his country and himself.
