Design assistant Lin Wanxing is trapped in an urban dilemma: the wrinkled drawings are always criticized as "not life-like", and the rental house is facing a rent increase. One late autumn night, when she forgot to bring her keys and was in a panic, she met her neighbor Gu Shiyan, a surgeon.
Later, the hot milk on the overtime night and the fireworks at the free clinic in the old city inspired her to find design inspiration. When the project was tampered with by her colleagues, Gu Shiyan helped her get the plan back. The two of them went from being strangers to each other and turning their days of running around alone into a tender time of watching the evening stars side by side.
