Sweet ’80s Romance: The Wicked Stepmom Is a Pastry Chef

[Transmigration + Period Setting + Raising Kids + Food + Sweet Romance]

Su Wan, a star pastry chef who worked herself to death, opened her eyes to find she had become a pampered “young stepmother” with the same name in the 1980s.

From the start, it was hell mode!

The original owner was lazy and mean, and had mistreated the twins her husband’s ex-wife left behind, Da Hu and Xiao Ya, until they were gaunt and feared her like a snake or scorpion.

Her husband, Zhou Qinghe, was a cold, aloof technician at a steel mill who was rarely home. Whenever he did return, he assumed she was “making trouble,” and his gaze was cold enough to freeze the air.

With a stepson who wanted nothing more than to throw a clod of dirt at her and kill her, a stepdaughter so frightened she could barely speak, and a husband who treated her like she wasn’t there...

Su Wan wiped her face. “What’s there to be afraid of? I’m just building a career somewhere new!”

With a spatula in one hand and baking recipes in the other, she would:

Win over the little “wolf cub” with a bowl of fragrant, sweet steamed egg custard;

Heal the little “poor thing’s” childhood with a soft piece of milk bread;

And use modern cuisine and baking skills to thrive in the opportunity-filled 1980s!

But how did the two little ones she was raising become her most devoted “little cotton jackets”?

And why had her cold, icy husband started coming home on time every day, handing over his entire salary and ration coupons with his ears red?

Zhou Qinghe, his gaze burning: “Wanwan, I want the children, and I want you too.”

Su Wan, hands on her hips: “Get out of my way. You’re keeping me from making money!”
