My Teammate’s Luck Is Absurdly Bad: Turns Out He’s the Universe’s Balancer

The Void-Erosion race tears open black holes and invades, turning the city into a living hell in an instant! I, Chu Zhe, have just finished delivering takeout when I get bound to three utterly bizarre teammates:

Young Xiao Duan is plagued by bad luck. He trips and falls flat on his face, and chokes on water so badly he spits out his food. But when evil spirits surround us, he slips and falls, shattering the Void-Erosion tide. He accidentally touches the black hole’s core and reverses its entropy. What kind of unlucky guy is he? He’s clearly a cosmic-scale balancing artifact!

Then there’s Ning Huang, an assassin who misunderstands everything. Her strikes are lethal, but her thought process is bizarre. She’s convinced I’m harboring demonic energy and plan to defect, when in reality I’m the good side of the Dark Overlord.

And then there’s the Buddhist cultivator Murong Cibei. Before every fight, he chants sutras to deliver souls to the afterlife, then turns around and knocks out the evil spirits’ leader with his prayer beads!

Other people form teams based on strength. I lead mine by letting my teammates do their thing!

The Void-Erosion leader makes a threat? Xiao Duan sneezes, causing its energy to go haywire and blow itself up. The Evil Thoughts Overlord launches a sneak attack? Murong Cibei chants sutras until it mentally breaks down. The Chaos Envoy comes charging in? Ning Huang mistakenly thinks I’m trying to steal the kill, and cleaves the core of chaos in half!

“Chu Zhe, are you trying to hog all the credit?” “Layman, one must recite the Rebirth Mantra three times after taking a life!” “Wow, the Heavenly Dao really favors me!”

Me: “...” Thanks for asking. Taking three weirdos on a rampage across the stars to protect the entire universe is exhilarating, but it’s exhausting too!

From then on, the universe’s evil spirits tremble at the news: “We can’t beat them, we can’t beat them! That unlucky guy on their team is scarier than a black hole!”
