An abnormal warm spell in northeastern Z Country thaws the permafrost, bringing the corpse of a shaman who was frozen for a century back to light. Parasites crawl out of the corpse's eyes and quickly infect the whole village. Yet the villagers keep up their old routines, repeating their daily chores and even gathering to worship at the mountain god's temple, until they begin using their rotting hands to offer fresh human organs to the "mountain god"...
