A World of Ten Thousand Trades

Lin Xiao, a food-delivery rider, finds his phone hijacked by a bizarre app that cannot be uninstalled. The delivery address is a haunted house from an urban legend, and what he’s delivering is his very “existence.” Fail, and he’ll be erased completely.

Forced to accept the order, he relies on a battered old manual passed down through his family. One rainy night, he pushes open the door to No. 44 Huaian Road and steps into a hidden world of uncanny wonders.

A sinister shadow that devours souls in mirrors, ghostly claws that drag people underwater, a song that demands lives in the dead of night... Beneath the city’s shadows, ancient traditions are awakening. Miaojiang poison-wielding witches, Xiangxi corpse drivers, Yellow River corpse collectors, and Northeastern spirit mediums... Unusual practitioners from the many old trades are emerging one after another.
