This world contains many superficial connections to the outside world.
Most people call it "supernatural", and imagine the unexplainable lights and shadows, inexplicable sounds, and sudden chills as ferocious ghosts and unsolvable curses. But in my opinion, the so-called supernatural is just human beings' instinctive fear of the unknown - just like when you touch a rope in the dark, you will always think of poisonous snakes instead of ordinary knots.
But there is a group of people who don't do any thinking, they just make decisions.
They are outside the secular rules, their whereabouts are secretive, and their only mission is to find these "links" and cut them off with their own hands. No one knows their names, and no one knows their origins. There are only some fragmented legends circulating - they understand ancient arts, are proficient in science and technology, can detect illusions, can suppress abnormal movements, and are "nocturnal animals" walking in the darkness.
I thought these legends were as much nonsense as "supernatural" itself.
I mean, I thought.
It's so beautiful, I like it so much.
