Spirit Crossing Village

This is a world where people turn into vengeful spirits after they die. The greater their resentment, the more powerful they become. One day, the bridge that spirits cross for the afterlife collapses for unknown reasons. Unable to find their way home, the vengeful spirits begin rampaging and slaughtering humans, leaving the world devastated. Some ordinary people gain mysterious powers, but even so, they cannot completely destroy the spirits. The Spirit Guiding Clan returns to the world, but remains unknown to everyone. In the dark of night, they silently light a lamp to guide the spirits onward, doing so until the end of their lives.

Ye Wuyou is a member of the Spirit Guiding Clan. One night, she felt very sleepy and went to bed early. When she woke up, she discovered that all the adults in her home had vanished without a trace. All she found was a note by her bed. It read, "We're sorry, Wuyou. We didn't mean to leave you behind, but you're the youngest in the village and have no way to protect yourself, so you couldn't come with us to fight those vengeful spirits. We had no choice but to leave you here alone. Your father and I prepared a soul lamp just for you ahead of time. Take it with you. Once you're strong enough, you'll be able to find us.

----With love, Mom and Dad"
