In the "Mirror City" where memory is currency, "Zero", a low-level scavenger, makes a living by picking up abandoned memory fragments. In an accident, he picked up a taboo fragment depicting a happy family, and the man in it turned out to be the supreme governor of the Mirror City. This fragment pushes him into a fatal whirlpool. In order to survive and to recover his tampered past, he must find the only exit in the ruler's dragnet and the intricate maze of memory.
