Fan Shengmei is determined to land a rich husband and escape her parasitic birth family. She pretends to be a socialite, only to be exposed for carrying a fake designer bag at an upscale party. Meng Yancheng, head of the Fu Group, takes an interest in Fan Shengmei's candid, money-minded nature and invites her into a deal: a contractual relationship. But an antagonist, driven by jealousy and self-interest, tries to sabotage them. Fan Shengmei is torn between love and her sense of self, while Meng Yancheng struggles between his feelings and his ingrained beliefs. Fan Shengmei's lies and Meng Yancheng's schemes lead to misunderstandings. Their relationship is further strained by Fan Shengmei's conflict with her birth family and Meng Yancheng's clashes with his own. Yet as they spend time together, they gradually let down their guard and find healing in each other.
