The Lin Family Eatery: Everyday Management

[Farming + face-slapping + food + making a fortune + everyday life]

Lin Zhixia transmigrates and opens her eyes to find her mother trying to hang herself. On the table lies a divorce letter from her scumbag father, sent after he passed the imperial examination. He abandoned his wife and child, her mother is desperate to die, and even their drafty old house has been handed off to his new owner. Lin Zhixia has no choice but to hold their broken family together. Determined to help her mother find the will to live again, she decides to use the little money they have left to take her mother to the capital and demand justice! But there are countless degree-holders surnamed Lin in the capital, and she has no way to find the right one. Their money is running out, so Lin Zhixia has no choice but to set up a stall, earning money while looking for her scumbag father. Yet she doesn’t find him. Instead, her stall gets busier by the day, with customers lining up from the street to the end of the alley. The wooden box where she keeps her coins grows bigger and bigger, and her little stall becomes a shop. In the end, the Lin Family Eatery becomes one of the hottest places to eat in the capital. When people learn that the eatery’s proprietress is still unmarried, matchmakers nearly wear down the Lin family’s doorstep. Before Lin Zhixia can even say a word, the cold-faced blacksmith next door is already anxiously blocking the door with betrothal gifts.

Lin Zhixia teases him: “Who goes and arranges their own marriage?”

Qin Zheng raises an eyebrow: “Now you know one.”
