[Ensemble of Young Heroes + Mystery Solving + Sweet-on-the-Outside, Dark-on-the-Inside Heroine] The Heroes' Manor is hosting a new martial arts tournament, drawing martial artists from across the land. Before the tournament even begins, the guests discover that an unfamiliar swordsman has been killed in the rear hall of the western wing. The man had been staying in the second room of the western wing. Since the Heroes' Manor is hosting the tournament, guards are patrolling everywhere. After an investigation, the only likely suspects are the guests staying in the western wing. They include Murong Bo and his sister, Murong Xian, of the Murong family; the young wandering swordsman Xicheng; and a young girl traveling with Xicheng, named Yiyi. She seems a little dim-witted. Though she looks fifteen or sixteen, she cowers timidly behind Xicheng, terrified, as if she has lost her wits! There are also the renowned Palace Master of the Illusory Spirit Palace, Xianyu Linger, and a mysterious swordsman named Shaokang.
The martial world is divided among three powers: the Heroes' Manor leads the righteous factions, the Illusory Spirit Palace dominates the Western Sea, and the Flower Sect lies hidden at the old site of Penglai in the Eastern Sea. Twenty years ago, the folk song "The Three Lives Stone decides the fate of all, the Soul-Calling Jade reveals hidden secrets" sparked a catastrophe. Penglai Island was burned, the Soul-Calling Jade shattered, the Murong Manor was massacred, and the retired Demon King Luoshui became a nightmare haunting the martial world. Now the Heroes' Manor has revived the martial arts tournament, but in truth, it is the ultimate game of chess in which the various factions seek revenge, hunt for hidden treasures, and settle old scores. On the eve of the tournament, the retired Demon King Luoshui, in disguise, is murdered. Suspicion falls on the guests staying in the western wing.
