Ark Reboot: Rusted Dawn

In Year 37 of the Star Era, on the eve of the apocalypse, Lin Ye, chief engineer of the Ark space station, is killed by his most trusted girlfriend, Su Wan. To join the ambitious organization Genesis, she steals the core key and personally tears down humanity’s last line of defense.

When his consciousness awakens in a hibernation pod, Lin Ye discovers he has been reborn one month before the apocalypse begins. The wound in his chest is gone, the Ark’s shields have yet to fail, and Su Wan’s mask of hypocrisy is still in place. This time, he hides his hatred, pretending to be devoted to lull the traitor into a false sense of security while using his foreknowledge to make his moves: changing the access codes for the mechanical guards, intercepting Genesis’s secret intelligence, stockpiling scarce energy cores for the apocalypse, and even secretly rebuilding a defense squad loyal to him.

In thirty days, he will rewrite the Ark’s fate with his own hands: safeguarding humanity’s hope while sending that treacherous “butterfly” plunging into the hell she wove herself. When the rust-colored dawn rises once more, who will be the one making the final move in this apocalyptic game of chess?
