Written in plain, conversational language for the general public, this book explains the ancient divination classic Plum Blossom Numerology. Plum Blossom Numerology Made Easy is an introductory guide to the Book of Changes designed for modern readers. Guided by the principles of “making the complex simple” and “putting knowledge into practice,” it turns the obscure theories of traditional Plum Blossom Numerology into practical, actionable skills. Through everyday examples, modern language, and a systematic framework, it helps beginners quickly master this ancient art of divination, which originated in the Northern Song dynasty, and move beyond viewing it as “mysterious occultism” to recognizing it as a “decision-making tool.” Plum Blossom Numerology is a classic work that blends traditional Chinese philosophical wisdom with practical divination techniques. It is said to have been founded by Shao Yong, a Northern Song scholar of the Book of Changes also known as Shao Kangjie, though in fact it was compiled by later scholars who combined his ideas on the Book of Changes with folk divination practices. Rooted in the Book of Changes, it uses an integrated system of images, numbers, and principles to build a flexible model for prediction. It can reveal the direction in which things are developing while also inspiring wisdom in life, earning it the name “an ancient art of divination for seeing opportunities at any time and place.” Plum Blossom Numerology is more than a divination book. It is a “mental operating system” that Chinese civilization has given to all humanity. Using the sixty-four hexagrams, it builds a bridge between the abstract and the concrete, allowing people in today’s fast-changing world to experience the ancient wisdom of “using simplicity to master complexity and understanding the Way by observing images.” Whether you want to explore the unknown, make better decisions, cultivate yourself, or trace the roots of a culture, this classic can open a door to ancient wisdom.
