War of Resistance: Me, the Shadowy Star of the Special Higher Police

He transmigrates to 1938 and becomes a section chief in the Japanese secret police?

Wu Tian says: “Don't panic. No big deal!”

It's just a spy game. I've directed plays for half my life. What have I got to fear?

Shanghai is my set!

The Military Statistics Bureau, the Communist Party, and 76 are all actors under my command!

Today, I'll add a camera angle to a “kissing scene” with a female Military Statistics Bureau agent (passing along intelligence).

Tomorrow, I'll swap out a prop in Du Yuesheng's “fight scene” (to get medicine).

The day after, I'll call in a future traitor to audition (to verify his identity). If he can't act, I'll cut him!

Japanese: “Section Chief, your command is a work of genius!”

Our comrades: “This director's instructions are outrageous, but he wins every time!”

With a cigar between his teeth, Wu Tian gazed at Shanghai in all its chaos, yet entirely under his control, and smiled faintly.

“Quiet, everyone! All departments, get ready. Action!”

“Today, we're shooting a scene called ‘Japan Surrenders’!”
