Drunk on the Passing Years

A contemporary novel set against a historical backdrop. If you loved the sweeping changes of the times in "Like a Flowing River", the ups and downs of its characters' fates in "The Knockout", or the entrepreneurial spirit of "Feathers Fly to the Sky", then "Drunken Glory in the Passing Years" is sure to keep you turning pages!

A generation's youth, betrayal, and comeback. In the 1980s, a card game changed the lives of several young people forever. Yan Mingguang lost both his parents as a child and was raised by his adoptive father. He became an ordinary worker at a cassette factory. From selling cassettes to running an arcade, then riding the wave of Hainan's property boom, Yan Mingguang always found himself at the forefront of the times, but every step was fraught with danger.

He was betrayed by a close friend and set up by a rival.

He went from having nothing to becoming rich overnight.

He lost his way in love, then found clarity in the cutthroat world of business.

He thought friendship was the brightest beacon of youth. But Zhang Yingjun, the brother who once stood by his side, gradually strayed into the gray areas of life. From close friends to rivals, from partners to enemies, their forty years of tangled grudges and passions capture the madness and upheavals of an era.

This is the story of one man's struggle, and the youth of an entire generation.

Friendship and self-interest, love and betrayal, ideals and reality... In that turbulent age, no one could stay untouched, but some still managed to swim against the tide.
