"Thunder in Southeast Yunnan: Funing's Column to Defeat Chiang Kai-shek" takes the revolutionary struggle in the Funing region of southeastern Yunnan in 1948 as the starting point, and spans to after the founding of New China. It panoramically shows the magnificent journey of the "Funing First Column to Defeat Chiang Kai-shek" from the first spark to the prairie fire, and finally integrated into the torrent of national liberation. The story is rooted in the mountainous context of southeastern Yunnan where multiple ethnic groups live together. It uses the intertwined fate of the Zhuang, Miao, Han and other ethnic groups as the background, and develops a core narrative around the establishment, fighting, and growth of the column.
