SSS-Rank and Refusing to Be Coddled, He Disguises Himself as a Rookie

Told from the perspective of the heroine, Su Ling, the story opens on the dramatic sight of an “F-rank weakling” and the “eternal runner-up” being forced to team up, revealing the academy’s rundown atmosphere. It shows how Lu Yan flawlessly plays the role of an F-rank who “tries hard but really is terrible.” Faced with everyone’s mockery, he remains utterly unfazed, even finding them annoying. During an outdoor survival class, the team is attacked by mutant beasts. At the critical moment, Lu Yan protects Su Ling by piercing a mutant beast’s central nervous system with a leaf, moving with speed and precision no one else can detect. Su Ling’s “True Sight” catches the fleeting afterimage, and she begins to take a keen interest in him.
