From founding empress of the Great Yan dynasty to a fake heiress discarded by a wealthy family, Lu Qingyan’s life has been full of twists and turns. In her previous life, she helped her husband ascend the throne, only to be poisoned to death by her beloved and her younger sister on the day of his coronation. In this life, she wakes on the rooftop of the Shen family villa in the body of Shen Weiwei, an “imposter” everyone can bully.
Facing the real heiress who stole her place, cold and calculating adoptive parents, and a fiancé who kicks her when she’s down, Lu Qingyan’s eyes hold nothing but icy murderous intent. Medicine is the foundation of her survival. Political strategy is her weapon in the business world. She’ll show everyone that even when a phoenix falls to the plains, it is still a phoenix!
With a silver needle in her left hand, she saves powerful figures from the brink of death and builds a top-tier network of connections. With ancient recipes in her right, she concocts miraculous remedies, founds Fengyi Pavilion, and builds a business empire of her own. The Shen family, the Lin family… her old enemies crumble one by one under her precise attacks.
But just as she begins to thrive, a gentle, mysterious pastry chef named Baizhi appears. Her lost palace recipes and eerily familiar, venomous tactics seem to signal that her mortal enemy from her previous life has arrived in this world with her.
Facing old foes who are ready to pounce, allies whose intentions are hard to read (Gu Yanhuai), a “friend” with inscrutable methods (Jing Heng), and a “sister” lurking in the shadows, Lu Qingyan stands ready to make her move.
This time, she’ll claim the phoenix throne herself! She’ll conquer the realm herself!
Watch as a deposed empress stirs up the modern city, tramples her enemies underfoot as she builds her career, and becomes a legend!
