Our Orthodox sect has two oddballs. The senior disciple says that Lin Zhuang of the Alchemy Sect and I are the “twin stars of the Taoist world,” a pair of once-in-a-millennium talents. I thought he meant we were exceptionally gifted, with profound Taoist skills. Only later did I realize he meant we were exceptionally good at causing trouble, and at fighting.
I’m Li An of the Talisman Sect, and I live by the motto, “If a talisman can solve it, don’t waste your breath.” Lin Zhuang of the Inner Alchemy Sect firmly believes, “There’s no ghost one punch can’t deal with. If there is, then use two.”
While other Taoist priests are busy performing rituals, praying for blessings, and tracing mystic steps, the two of us are being chased all over by a red-clad ghost, and sparring with villagers trying to shake us down. While the elders of our sect are divining the heavens and making far-reaching plans, we’re using the Alchemy Sect’s vital energy to take on an ancient evil spirit possessing our junior disciple, trading blow for blow.
Not enough Taoist magic? Make up for it with vital energy! The formation’s broken? Then smash it to pieces!
It isn’t until the mastermind finally reveals himself, pointing to the “second senior brother” who disappeared years ago, that Lin Zhuang and I understand: the most vicious ghosts in this world are hidden in people’s hearts.
Watch the “twin stars of the Taoist world” use the most orthodox cultivation to beat the most sinister ghosts and unravel the most devious plots!
