The Tablet of Commandments

[Legal Fantasy × Cthulhu Mythos × Steampunk × Epic Ensemble]

The law can decide who lives and dies; contracts can enslave souls. Lin Yan, a transmigrator, becomes a lawyer in a steampunk otherworld.

He soon discovers that this world's laws are both the rules of society and the source of supernatural power. The twenty-two “Divine Paths,” ranging from Sequence 9's [Litigator] to Sequence 0's [God of Legislation], represent the ultimate laws governing the world. And embedded in Lin Yan's soul is a fragment of a “Stele of Edicts” from another world. It lets him glimpse the underlying principles that govern all things, while making him an anomaly coveted and hunted by every faction.

To survive and uncover the truth, he harnesses the fragment's power and establishes a secret organization called the “Hall of Silence.” An idealistic noblewoman, a battle-scarred former prison warden, a scholar obsessed with forbidden knowledge... companions swept up in the tide of the times gather here.

Together, they will face capitalist magnates who exploit souls through contracts, official judges who uphold cold procedural justice, and ancient beings enthroned above who seek to enshrine eternal injustice as the ultimate law.

This is a war fought in courtrooms, with statutes as swords. When the divine throne finally opens to Lin Yan, he faces the ultimate choice: ascend to godhood and become an indifferent Heavenly Dao, or shatter the stele and return the right to shape the future to every mortal?

An extraordinary epic of rules, power, and human nature comes to trial.
