Notes on Raising a Child: The Blind Man of the South and the Mute Man of the North

After being reborn, Hei Xiazi wants nothing more than to stay as far away from Zhang Qiling as possible. But a three-year-old child who appears out of nowhere throws his plans into disarray by clinging to his leg and mumbling, “Dad.” What makes his scalp tingle even more is that the child looks exactly like a miniature Zhang Qiling. From then on, the South Blind, feared throughout the underworld, begins a life of raising a child, playing both father and mother, with baby bottles and the Black Gold Ancient Blade flying side by side. Then one day, the child’s biological father shows up. Zhang Qiling looks at the child who is his spitting image, then at Hei Xiazi trying to sneak away, and for the first time in a century, wears an expression of confusion and shock.
