After moving into a cheap old apartment building in Mong Kok, a tenant discovers a Bagua mirror facing the wrong way inside her bedroom wall and is drawn into a terrifying curse centered on the feng shui of the "Yin Gate."
The story unfolds as follows:
1. Strange signs appear: The heroine finds a Bagua mirror facing inward inside the wall. Chan Granny, who lives downstairs, tells her it is "locking in the baleful energy." That night, she sees a faceless woman in a red wedding dress in the mirror.
2. A bloody past: The property manager reveals that the daughter of the Zhu family, the previous owners, mysteriously vanished on her wedding day while wearing a red wedding dress. The whole family then died under bizarre circumstances. A feng shui master determines that the building was erected over a "Yin Gate."
3. The sinister array revealed: The heroine pries up the floorboards and finds seven urns of ashes arranged in a circle, with an empty eighth spot at the center. The red-clad ghost whispers in her ear, "The eighth spot is reserved for you."
4. The deadly truth: Chan Granny reveals that this is a "kinship Yin-locking array," which requires the ashes of close relatives to suppress the Yin Gate. The missing daughter was buried alive beneath the stove by her own uncle to serve as the array's focal point. Her resentment never faded, turning her into the fiercest evil spirit.
5. A choice between life and death: After finding the bride's finger bone, the heroine is trapped with two choices: become the eighth living sacrifice, or risk breaking the array at noon, which could unleash the horrors of the Yin Gate completely.
