In 875 AD, the Huangchao Uprising broke through the setting sun of the late Tang Dynasty and kicked off the troubled times of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms. This work uses the "Five Generations of the Central Plains" as its bones and the "Rise and Fall of the Ten Kingdoms" as its flesh, connecting a group of heroes and tyrants struggling in blood—— Zhu Wen (Taizu of the Later Liang Dynasty), who was born as a rogue, rebelled against the Tang Dynasty and seized power as a rebel general, but due to the hatred of Shangyuanyi, he entered into a deadly fight with the one-eyed dragon Li Keyong (the King of Jin); Li Keyong taught him arrows before he died, and his son Li Cunxu (Zhuangzong of the Later Tang Dynasty) used his courage to destroy the Liang Dynasty and the Tang Dynasty, but at the peak of his career, he perished due to pride and extravagance.
The land of the Central Plains changed owners every five years: Li Siyuan (Mingzong of the later Tang Dynasty) ascended to the throne as a low-level person and briefly supported the rule of the world; Shi Jingtang (the emperor of the later Jin Dynasty) used the Khitan soldiers to seize power and cut off the sixteen states of Yanyun, leaving him with eternal infamy; Guo Wei (the Taizu of the later Zhou Dynasty) counterattacked as a soldier and injected glimmer of light into the troubled times with reforms; Chai Rong (Shizong of the later Zhou Dynasty) relied on "ten years to open up the world" The ambition of Zhao Kuangyin (Taizu of the Song Dynasty) was harvested through the Chenqiao Rebellion, but he died of illness during the Southern and Northern Expeditions.
The ten southern countries interpret a different chapter: Li Min and his son (Li Jing and Li Yu) of the Southern Tang Dynasty are famous for their literature and art. Li Yu "asked you how much sorrow you can have" expressed the sorrow of the country's demise; Qian Liu of Wu and Yue "protected the country and the people", turning the two Zhejiang provinces into a paradise in troubled times; Liu Wei's "eunuch rule" of the Southern Han Dynasty and Meng Chang's "Seven Treasures Drowning Weapon" of the Later Shu Dynasty fully demonstrated the absurdity of small countries.
