Chen Yan, a second-year postgraduate student in the Department of History and Archeology at YCU, accidentally discovered a bronze talisman engraved with "Ordered by Heaven" and star patterns while doing an internship at the Yanxiadu ruins in Yixian County, Hebei Province. The moment he touched the bronze talisman, he was swallowed by the strong light and traveled to the wilderness of the Yan-Zhao border at the end of the Warring States Period (242 BC, the first year of King Yan Xiao). As soon as he landed, he was surrounded by refugees armed with wooden sticks and stone axes. When he was on the verge of death, the "Qiankun Determining System" was activated, issuing a novice mission "Stay Alive" and providing rewards such as temporary basic swordsmanship, permanent Warring States language proficiency, first aid kits, and lighters. Chen Yan relied on the "Sacred Fire" (lighter) rewarded by the system to intimidate and counterattack with swordsmanship, successfully repelling the refugees, and then confirmed the era and location through the system panel. Faced with the frequent wars and weakened national power of the Yan State, as a modern history scholar, he embarked on a journey of survival in the Warring States Period full of unknowns with the goal of "surviving, integrating with the times, and finding a way to return to modernity." The connection between the bronze talisman and the system also laid suspense for the subsequent plot.
