Once a legendary fighter aboard Pirate King Roger’s ship, Douglas Bullet spent years lying low in the deep-sea prison of Impel Down. An unexpected disturbance allowed the powerful man known as the “Demon Heir” to break free of his chains. Still obsessed with reaching the pinnacle of strength and driven by unfinished ambitions, he eventually made his way to the East Blue.
There, he met the straw-hatted boy Luffy, who kept saying, “I’m going to become the Pirate King.” Luffy’s pure conviction and fearless courage unexpectedly stirred Bullet’s frozen heart. Unlike his solitary path in the past, he chose to join the shabby Straw Hat pirate ship, becoming Luffy’s second crew member and irreplaceable first mate.
What kind of transformation will Bullet, with the legacy of the Roger Pirates and strength among the very best, bring to the inexperienced Straw Hat Pirates? What kind of crashing waves will the little pirates of the East Blue raise ahead of schedule under his protection and guidance? From the East Blue to the Grand Line, from taking on local tyrants to challenging the Shichibukai, Bullet and Luffy join forces as the crew’s two central pillars, breaking through obstacle after obstacle on a passionate adventure destined to reshape the age as they aim for the throne of the Pirate King!
