[Gentle, scheming, doting gong + self-effacing, gentle cat-like shou]
[ABO + gong is reborn + both grow strong later + both are each other’s first and only + size difference]
When Wen Heng opened his eyes, he discovered he had returned to the time when his lover was young.
In his past life, he thought Cheng Linwan stayed by his side only because of their childhood engagement and the innocent trust they had shared as children. He endured it for four whole years, just so he could set Cheng Linwan free whenever he wanted.
Only when he saw the little mute clutching his portrait and weeping shortly before he left did Wen Heng realize that the other man had loved him deeply all along.
Starting life over, Wen Heng met Cheng Linwan again and thought he was just like an adorable little cat. No matter how hard something was to accept, Cheng Linwan would quickly compose himself and give Wen Heng a faint smile, then slip away to a corner and cry in secret when no one was looking.
Cheng Linwan was sent to Wen Heng as a sacrificial pawn by his family.
Wen Heng was nearly a head taller than him, yet always bent down to speak with him.
When Cheng Linwan was finally nursed back to a slightly healthier state, Wen Heng said, “The kitten’s gotten chubby.”
When Cheng Linwan finally developed a temper, Wen Heng said, “The kitten’s hissing.”
Looking at that devastatingly handsome face, Cheng Linwan couldn’t help smiling. He had fallen in love with Wen Heng at first sight.
The kitten couldn’t speak, but would always unconsciously curl up in Wen Heng’s arms, rubbing against him.
Before the Buddha statue, someone bowed devoutly. “I’m willing to lose everything I have, if only I can walk this road with you again in this life.”
Time passed, and before the Buddha statue stood someone else.
“I’m willing to spend my whole life sheltering you from wind and rain, if only you can be safe and well in this life.”
I like the setting of Shuang Jie + HE, and I like to read this kind of writing. There is no bloody third party, and it focuses on the emotional warming of the two protagonists. However, some of the lines are a bit straightforward and a bit sensational. It would be more flavorful if they were more subtle.
The emotional line running in both directions is very touching, and Shou's transformation from inferiority to sunshine is traceable and not abrupt. However, the plot of the fight between wealthy families is relatively cliched and doesn't have much new ideas. Fortunately, it does not affect the perception of the main line of emotions.
The emotional description is delicate, and the regrets of the past life echo the redemption of this life. Cheng Linwan's silent love and Wen Heng's regret are both well portrayed. However, some plot twists are a little rushed, such as Mr. Wen suddenly delegating power to Wen Heng, and there is insufficient foreshadowing.
Many things are in line with common sense. Gong is very smart, thoughtful, and really gentle. Xiao Cheng is also very strong and not weak, and has been resisting injustice.
Very sweet and doting! This book with two male protagonists is the most addictive one I have read recently, hahahaha, more to come! 😆
