Synopsis of the story of "Dark River"
In Nancheng in 2003, sixteen-year-old Shen Yan was a "wild dog" crawling out of the swamp - his father was raped by the gang leader Dao Scar and drowned in the river. He escaped from the dead body in the scrap steel factory, clutching half a piece of moldy steamed bun, and tried his best to survive.
During a heavy rain, he was picked up by Lu Chenzhou, who controlled half of the docks in Nancheng. On the condition of "repaying his father's old kindness", Lu Chenzhou gave him a chance to survive: disguised as a handyman, he sneaked into the Jinyue Bay Club and stole the red sandalwood bracelet with evidence of smuggling hidden in the wrist of Scar Qiang's backer Zhao Feng.
