God King Prison: Ye Chen Is Back, Kyoto, Tremble!

The bloodbath from six years ago still plays out again and again in Ye Chen's dreams. On that torrential, rain-soaked night, the Ye family estate blazed with light, and his parents' screams pierced the skies. The Tang family of the capital, a pack of bloodthirsty wolves, not only seized the Ye family's fortune but also threw eighteen-year-old Ye Chen into the Shenzhou Prison, a living hell so dreadful that even the most hardened criminals trembled at its name.

The iron gate slammed shut behind him, and the stench of rot and blood hit him at once. Yet no one could have imagined that this prison, which held thirty-six peerless criminals, would become the crucible that transformed Ye Chen. The descendant of the Medicine King Sun Simiao taught him every last detail of his medical art. The God of War of the Northern Frontier taught him the arts of battlefield slaughter, and the Shadow King taught him to hide and move unseen. For six years, through more than two thousand nights and days, Ye Chen absorbed these astonishing legacies in his cramped cell. When his fingers could manipulate nine silver needles at once, and his punches could leave dents inches deep in iron walls, every “devil” in the prison knew that the trapped dragon was about to soar into the sky.

Dawn pierced the mist, and the heavy iron gate opened once more. Ye Chen strode out, his shadow stretching long behind him in the morning sun. He looked back at the cage that had swallowed six years of his youth, the corner of his mouth lifting into a cold smile. The Tang family might have thought that the ant they'd crushed had long since turned to dust. They didn't know that the beast they'd set free had sharpened its fangs.

“Time to settle the score,” he murmured, his knuckles turning white. The capital glittered in the distance as ever, but soon the city would tremble at his return.
