In the town of Kirigakure, which is permanently shrouded in thick fog, there is a terrifying legend of the "Fog Tribulation" - every twenty years when the fog is at its thickest, someone will disappear mysteriously in the town, leaving no trace of the disappeared person. Lu Xun, a graduate student in folklore, received the last email from his grandfather before he disappeared. There was only an old piece of paper with strange symbols drawn on it and the words "Misty Hidden Town". In order to find his grandfather, he stepped into this small town that had been forgotten by the outside world. As soon as he entered the village, he encountered strange things: the door of the inn opened and closed automatically late at night, the cry of children came from the fog, and the villagers looked at him with wary eyes. Here, he met Su Wan, who could see supernatural things. The two accidentally discovered that his grandfather's disappearance was closely related to the fog disaster twenty years ago and the curse hidden in the town. As the investigation deepens, they are involved in a series of strange events: a moving scarecrow, a black shadow devouring living people in the fog, and an ancient stone tablet engraved with symbols. Each step approaches the core of the curse. Behind the thick fog, there are not only strange existences that swallow life, but also secrets that the villagers have guarded for hundreds of years. The two must uncover the truth before the fog comes again, otherwise they will become the next batch of missing people.
