I Live in an Anthology

He transmigrated through many worlds and saw many different kinds of light.

Each time, he could see what others could not: pale blue clusters of light, breathing and growing within a select few. They guided their era and were called "protagonists."

Later, he discovered that the light wasn't only within them.

It was in the people who farmed, wove, forged iron, and studied. It was in everyone.

The same color, the same brightness, the same breath.

He wasn't the protagonist. He was simply the one who wielded the blade.

One slash to slay demons, one to protect the people, one to end every injustice.

From one world to another, from one person to millions.

He didn't know what lay at the end of those clusters of light, or how many more times he would have to transmigrate.

He only knew this:

As long as someone was still shining, he would keep going.

[The story of Zhao Xun, a transmigrator who presses forward with his blade through different eras.]

[Here you'll find urban pursuits, a demon-slaying blade, the Industrial Revolution, and a sea of people.]

[But at its heart, this is a story about light.]

"One slash to end all injustice, and win a few days of peace for the world."

"Ask not where the road home lies. Wherever the heart finds peace is home."

A soul from Earth, a world that makes no sense, a wondrous story, and the journey of a lonely traveler. My name is Zhao Xun. I'm just a traveler, that's all. I can't do this synopsis justice, so please head to the story itself. (No heroine, infinite worlds, leveling up, no System, becoming a god, chapters are all around 4,000 words.)
