At the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, war swept across the land, turning villages and cities into scorched earth. Song Sanxi, who was born in the grassroots, prostitute Liu Banchun, coolie farmer Da Niu, Mr. Wu Koujue and female vendor Qian Susu lived in the cracks of the times. Some of them are running for a living, some are risking their lives for family ties, and some are enjoying themselves in hardship, sometimes making jokes, and sometimes crying. Dynasties change and civil upheavals continue. In the process of being kidnapped, fleeing, being coerced into soldiers, becoming refugees, and redeeming each other, everyone grows and achieves nirvana. Even though we cannot change the flow of history, we can still warm each other and save ourselves in humiliation, creating a magnificent epic in the dust.
