Ouyang Shixiu's Memoir

"Where have you been all these years? What have you been doing? You skipped the first two class reunions we tried to organize."

"Me? I set out from Shengjing, traveled south through the Central Plains to Guangdong and Guangxi, then went into Yunnan and on to Bashu. After that, I visited several Southeast Asian countries. It really opened my eyes."

"And what did you..." "Nothing much. Through the power of affinity, I met so many extraordinary people and gifted practitioners rarely found in this world. Most of them stay out of ordinary society, and even when they do enter it, ordinary people don't recognize them. All kinds of supernatural powers, magical arts, and changes in the world... I've seen it all. Esoteric and exoteric Buddhism, Chan and Pure Land, the various Daoist schools, Hinduism, the four dhyanas and eight samadhis, the stages from the first to the fourth fruition... Words cannot do it justice. It's beyond comprehension."

May all those who are fated to encounter this find benefit.
