"Wisdom Tank" is a collection of wisdom cases from past dynasties compiled by Feng Menglong, a writer in the late Ming Dynasty in his later years. It can be called the "Encyclopedia of Oriental Wisdom". At that time, the court was in turmoil. With the original intention of "helping the world with wisdom", Feng Menglong read through the classics and history collections and official unofficial histories, collecting all kinds of wisdom deeds from the pre-Qin Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty, and finally completed this classic that spans thousands of years and covers hundreds of industries.
The whole book takes "practical" as its bones and "morality" as its soul, and is divided into ten parts, including superior wisdom, wise wisdom, discerning wisdom, and courageous wisdom. The content covers the country-governing strategies of emperors and generals, the contingency strategies of civil servants and military generals, as well as the market changes of ordinary people. It also pioneered the establishment of the "Girls' Wisdom" department to collect women's wisdom and deeds, breaking the secular prejudice.
Feng Menglong adheres to the principle of "wisdom and morality first", abandons the "small cleverness" of benefiting oneself at the expense of others, and advocates the "great wisdom" of taking into account both morality and practicality, making the classics go beyond mere strategic reference books and have deep thoughts. Although it has been more than 300 years, the way of thinking in the book to look at problems dialectically and assess situations is still of practical significance, providing contemporary people with eternal wisdom and nourishment in dealing with things and making decisions.
