Shen Ye, a god-slayer who perished alongside a god, returns from the abyss of another world and arrives in a world ravaged by mad gods. There, he meets the local God of War, Lin Qiye, the guardian of Great Xia and the embodiment of order and light.
One is a “Shadow” who will become a wrathful demon to achieve his goals. The other is “Light,” steadfast in his convictions and devoted to protecting all living things.
