I'm a huge fan of Xin Qiji, so I started writing this novel, though I have no idea how it will turn out. As the embers of the Jingkang Incident scorch the Central Plains and the court clings to its corner of the realm, a young man rises from Jinan beneath the Jurchen horses' iron hooves. Carrying his grandfather's charge to “restore the Central Plains,” and armed with astonishing martial arts and the talent to shape the world, he writes a stirring song of sword and poetry amid the torrents of history. He is Xin Qiji: the “Dragon of Poetry,” able to write magnificent verses with his brush and bring order to the world from horseback. He is also a lone, dauntless soul who spends his whole life fighting for his ideals of home and country, caught between dreams and reality.
