[Story Summary]
The protagonist, Zhong Bufan, is the son of the Yangzhou provincial governor. He claims to be a descendant of Zhong Kui and is passionate about adventure and investigating strange tales and unusual events.
While traveling south, he runs into danger and is rescued by the chief clerk of Nan County in Xunzhou. By a twist of fate, he becomes a county yamen runner.
A murder attempt in a private residence, two captured assassins, a princess and the son of a powerful minister drawn into the affair, and an old wrongful conviction brought to light. The mastermind behind it all turns out to be him!
In Nan County, Zhong Bufan not only reunites with his long-lost childhood sweetheart, Ye Lan [the heroine, a great swordswoman who brings both fighting prowess and beauty], but also earns merit by solving cases and protecting the emperor. His fate gradually becomes entwined with the imperial family and the Li Tang dynasty.
As the investigation team grows, they uncover the stories behind one strange case after another, continuing to grow until Zhong Bufan becomes a master detective of his age!
It can be seen that the author is carefully designing the plot. Although it is not a fan, but as a story of the same type of detective team, some foreshadowing and plot reversal are quite thoughtful. I hope to continue to maintain it and work hard to update it.
The plot is tight, the logic is reasonable, and there are some linkage easter eggs from time to time, which is very good, recommended (*≧∪≦)👍🏻
