This Taoist Priest Only Helps Those Destined to Meet Him

On his first day taking over Qingyun Temple in the old district, young Daoist Li Qingxuan unlocks the Merit System. Giving someone blood pressure medication earns him merit, and driving away a little ghost unlocks a talisman template.

He delivers takeout in his Daoist robes and helps residents investigate strange noises coming from their closets, all while poking at baleful energy with a peachwood sword and relying on ice-cold cola in a pinch. He keeps veering between earning merit to make a living and vanquishing demons. But the deeper he gets, the stranger things become. The red-clad apparition in the residential complex and the century-old obsession haunting an ancestral home are both connected to a secret hidden in the Tao Te Ching left behind by his master. It turns out he isn't saving ordinary people, but resolving a thousand-year-old chain of karma hidden in the bustle of everyday life.
