Synopsis of The Abyssal Lode
The Longji Mountains, on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau, conceal a legendary abyssal lode rich in “dragon crystal ore.” This rare mineral is both highly magnetic and radioactive. It could become an energy source powerful enough to reshape the world, but it is also a lure that devours lives.
Experienced geologist Chen Feng, still haunted by the trauma and unanswered questions surrounding a Kunlun expedition disaster five years earlier, assembles a special team: impulsive technical genius Zhao Lei, security expert Lin Lan, who is investigating the truth behind her father's disappearance, veteran miner Old Zhou, a man of few words with secrets of his own, and Li Xiang, a mechanic of unknown origins. They venture into the mountains at the request of a mysterious employer, Boss Wang, unaware that this expedition is destined to become a gamble for their lives.
They encounter a geological landslide as soon as they enter the mining zone. Deeper in, they are trapped in an underground labyrinth of caves where electromagnetic systems fail. As the ruins of an abandoned research station are uncovered, the truth about illegal human experiments in 1987, the conspiracy of the “Star Core Society” behind Boss Wang, and the full story of the Kunlun disaster gradually come to light. The lode's “guardians” are in fact experimental mutants, and the true danger of the dragon crystal ore is a genetic-engineering program capable of triggering a global catastrophe.
As geological disasters and an armed raid strike at once, Chen Feng must lead his team through collapsing tunnels and deadly radiation, while also confronting his fated connection to the lode.
